The Christian market is wide-open and rewarding minuscule budgets with tens of millions of dollars at the box office and an average of $50 million on DVD/Blu-ray sales
We have proven - proven - that we can compete with the production values of Hollywood's biggest and best on less than a fraction of the budget, replacing dollar signs with artistry.
Most theatrical Christian motion pictures are dramas and bring in an average of $60 million at the box office and $50 million in DVD sales. We expect to exceed that with an an exciting special effects-heavy thriller!
1, Exhibition
Large theater chains in the United States have been contacted and the project discussed, and are ready and willing to accept David as the distributor of Orbiter, a critical financial aspect insomuch as delivery to a hungry audience is essentially assured, bypassing the usual confiscatory third-party distributor in the U.S. theatrical market. Related, one of the largest labs in the world, creating Digital Cinema Packages for the biggest of the major Hollywood studios, has enthusiastically agreed to handle the creation and delivery of all the 2D and critically important 3D DCPs of Orbiter to ensure the highest quality theatrical exhibition and 100% guaranteed reliable delivery to the theaters. It should be noted that Orbiter will be the first truly Independent feature motion picture in 3D which they have agreed to handle. The majority of independent faith-based motion pictures pull in a very reliable average of $60 million, whether they cost $500,000 or $20 million, they seem to earn more or the less the same on average.
2. Marketing
The key to success at the box office for Christian motion pictures today is word-of-mouth promotion on radio and social media, with mailings and emailings to churches. That is the process which turned extremely average (in-fact, below-average) interpersonal Christian dramas like Fireproof into $50 million blockbusters. Once the live action is completed we will create exciting advertising graphics and get them online along with the motion picture website. This will be followed with exciting 30-second-to-one-minute advance trailers posted on the internet to heighten anticipation even further. Christian talk radio stations are already being lined up and there are 600 such stations in the United States, providing promotion to millions, over and over, for free. Our exclusives to the Christian motion picture genre – stereoscopic 3D and high-end special effects – will push the limits of audience expectation – and audience turnout.
3. Distribution
David will self-distribute to dramatically more fully reap returns by eliminating the middle-man distributor; this can be done by capitalizing on the very exceptionally strong and essentially unique market attractiveness of a 3D stereoscopic live-action Christian motion picture with special effects, something never even attempted before. In 2016, 9 of the top 10 and 15 of the top 25 films were 3D releases.
David has had several conversations with executives at a very large theater chain in the United States and is able to comply completely with their technical specifications, which are actually minimal , including 4K distribution and the demand that the release print master Digital Cinema Packages are made at (name upon request) whose rates are affordable and with whom David has already forged a good communication relationship.
The Christian audience is so vastly under-served and starved for content, that the big money-making Christian motion Pictures have been, generally speaking, pretty poor dramas with no name actors and no production values. But they made a fortune and continue to do so because such motion pictures address an under-served audience when they know how to speak in scriptural terms the audience recognizes and respects. Here are a few lower-budget examples of movies which nevertheless speak to the Christian audience on a scriptural basis. Included are links which qualify the stated dollar amounts.

Orbiter is quite apart from the examples listed above in positive ways, only. Instead of being a simple interpersonal drama, it's a special effects-heavy, Tom Clancy-style thriller, in 3D, which also speaks to the same Christian audience with the same Biblical and scriptural emphasis as those, above. Budget to complete is $284,000.00.
7-time Oscar winner Gravity, also in 3D, is the closest visual approximation to Orbiter, and while not Christian, made $274,092,705 (approx $274 million) domestically with 90% of the domestic ticket sales in 3D, and $693,698,673 worldwide. To show the strength of the Christian market, Gravity won 7 Academy Awards, including Best Director, and the DVD/Blu-ray sales were only slightly more than those of the average Christian motion picture. Gravity's DVD and Blu-ray sales totaled $55,050,757 (Approx $55 million). The average Christian DVD/Blu-ray sales are approximately $50 million.
One very significant detail of this opportunity is that the Christian and sci-fi/Gravity audiences are additive, not either/or. We expect to get virtually all of the Christian audience of the movies listed above plus a significant portion of the "Gravity' (science fiction/thriller) audience. We estimate Orbiter's grosses to be somewhere in the area of $100 million domestic theatrical and $60 million DVD/Blu-ray, totaling $160 million. This seems to be a reasonable number for a Christian motion picture which is strong on Bible and scripture while also being strong on suspense and thrills, heavy of high-end special effects, in 3D, a project proved 100% do-able in the Orbiter concept trailer.
For investors, we are offering 1/2 of 1 percent of theatrical ticket sales per $10,000.00. Additionally, this offer is first-come, first serve. Once 20% of the total has been raised, no additional investment opportunity in Orbiter shall be offered.
To absolutely ensure theatrical distribution/exhibition, the producer/distributor is offering an unheard-of inducement to theaters of 30% of the ticket sales from day one. This is a huge windfall for theaters which usually start out getting a maximum of only 10% from the studios and discussions with theater chains makes it clear that 30% of a 3D Christian special effects thriller is an extremely attractive offer to them.
Here are some hypotheticals.
At an estimated $160 million, subtract $30 million for DVD/Blu-ray costs, and $30 million for the 30% to the theaters. That leaves an even $100 million. 1/4% of $100 million is $250,0900.00 for a $10,000.00 investment.
Suppose the film only earns in the low-end of the moderate range of the interpersonal dramas for some reason and brings in a combined total of $50 million after the theater's 30% and DVD/Blu-ray costs of $50 million. Your $10,000.00 investment "only" brings in a whopping $175,000.00.
Take it down a considerable notch further, Orbiter, in some impossible, inexplicable way, with a script co-authored by a New York Times best-selling author and special effects which have already been proven to match that of recent 7-time Oscar winner Gravity -in 3D! -turned out to be a real bomb at the box office. "What happened?" we say, hypothetically. "Gee, we can't figure it out! It only brought in $15 million." we puzzle and wonder. even then, your $10,000.00 investment "only" brought in $37,500.00 in a little over a year.
We still expect to bring in a total of $160 million between theatrical domestic ticket sales and domestic DVD/Blue-ray sales. None of this takes into account overseas in which U.S. Christian films do very poorly but U.S. special effects extravaganzas in 3D do explosively well. In this regard, we are in entirely untested waters. When it comes to overseas we just don't know. But we don't need it to be happy with our anticipated returns, either.
As you can see, while sure things are almost an impossibility in this world, Orbiter is a one-in-a-million sure thing. That's why Orbiter, or other projects and our studio have gotten as far as they have. People who know the business -and often business in general - recognize the nearly impossible "sure thing" because it is such a stark and vivid contrast to everything else.
This information basically applies to all 5 motion pictures in various stages of development at David Rosler Christian Motion Picture Studios.
Spend a couple of hours reading the information, that on the Orbiter website and watching the videos on this website and on the orbiter website. You'll invest and be glad that you did. Additionally, when the investment total is reached, the door closes on your opportunity to invest in the Studio or it's motion pictures forever.once the Studio becomes self-sufficient with its first motion picture, all options are lost for additional investment since it makes little sense for the studio to sell off large chunks of future motion pictures to investors when the budget is so modest and the return is so great. The studio will pay its own way from that point forward to reap the full rewards, so if you want to invest for these kinds of returns, NOW is the time. Do yourself a favor. Consider it, and if you decide to invest, do it right away, while you still can. This opportunity won't happen again.
